The Teton Valley is often referred to as the “quiet side of the Tetons,” located across the border in Idaho, a short drive from the bustling destinations of Jackson, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park. Outside of the main towns of Victor, Driggs, Tetonia, and Alta, there are abundant landscapes for outdoor pursuits of all types.
Teton Valley owes its abundant animal life and vegetation to three cycles of prehistoric volcanic activity. Originally populated by the Shoshone tribe, the purchase of the Louisiana Territory in 1803 and Lewis and Clark’s expedition in 1805 brought explorers, trappers and traders to the western United States. Early settlers were fur trappers, and the area even played host to the annual Rocky Mountain Fur Rendezvous. It wasn’t until mass migrations resulting from the California Gold Rush and the Homestead Act in the late 1800s that permanent agricultural settlements developed.
TaTeton Valley is home to approximately 13,000 residents, spread between the towns of Victor, Driggs, Tetonia, and Alta. Residents enjoy Teton views, affordability, and a peaceful ambiance with minimal traffic and population. Teton Valley plays host to a wide variety of winter activities. It is within a short drive to three different world-class ski resorts: Grand Targhee, Jackson Hole, and Snowking. The extensive trail systems play host to snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and snow biking. For the less active, there is a great cultural calendar that will entertain all ages, ranging from snow sculpting to festivals.

The area is known for its unbeaten fishing, in the Teton and Snake rivers, and there are 5 golf courses to choose from. There are also hundreds of miles of trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding. Yellowstone National Park is a short drive away, and the valley boasts several scenic byways and drives.
